Combined Cadet Force
Girls at Nonsuch have the opportunity to be a part of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) as part of our partnership between the School (Sutton Grammar & Nonsuch) and the MOD.
The aim of the CCF is to provide a disciplined organisation within a school so that young people may develop powers of leadership and promote the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, perseverance and a sense of service to the community.
At the CCF the girls can apply to join at the end of Year 8 and have the opportunity to be part of either the Army or Royal Air Force section.
There are about 100 girls from Nonsuch who take part in the CCF experiencing activities such as fieldcraft, target shooting adventurous training, first aid, drill, physical training, command tasks and Leadership exercises.
Cadets take part in weekly parades where they participate in a varied training syllabus and cadets attend our regular camps on both Army and RAF stations where they put their training into practice. For those that excel through the lower years there is the opportunity to take on a leadership role during the upper sixth year where cadets can take responsibility for training younger cadets and running camps.
It is important to understand that the CCF only operates with the permission of the respective Head Teachers. It is subordinate to the School’s Safeguarding policy which can be viewed on the school's website at:
