Diversity & Inclusion in the Curriculum

At Nonsuch, we believe that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) are fundamental to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.  It aligns with our school values of ‘positivity’ and ‘respect.’  It is also integral when building our school community where students feel that they belong.

We recognise that every student brings unique experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds to the classroom, and it is essential that our curriculum reflects and celebrates these differences.  Over the last 3 years, leaders, teachers and students have worked in collaboration along with other stakeholders such as Kingston University and SOAS to build a strong, inclusive curriculum.   This work will be ongoing and will continue to be a school priority.   By embedding EDI principles across our subjects, we aim to foster an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.  This approach not only enriches the educational experience but also prepares students to become compassionate, open-minded citizens who can contribute positively to a diverse and interconnected world.
